FirstEnergy Updates Communication Tools to Enhance Customer Communication
FirstEnergy has updated some of its customer communication tools including its alert system and power outage map. The most notable update to FirstEnergy’s alert system is a new email template designed to put the most relevant and critical information up front for the customer.
Another update to the alert system provides message aggregation when multiple similar or identical messages would be sent to the same contact. As before, customers can register for alerts on FirstEnergy’s website or by sending a text message with the keyword REG to FirstEnergy’s short code 544487 (LIGHTS).
FirstEnergy also updated its power outage map to the latest version of Storm Center™. The main focus of the update is a more mobile-friendly layout, with touch-friendly outage location icons, easy-to-read information panels, and street and city data from Google Maps. The new outage maps can be located by visiting FirstEnergy’s operating company websites.
