KUBRA Celebrates 25th Anniversary With Future Forward Campaign

KUBRA, the leading customer experience management solution provider, this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. In celebration, KUBRA introduced its new “Future Forward” campaign, which will include employee, client, and community initiatives that highlight the company’s innovative positioning and future-forward vision.

The company kicked off its celebrations March 28 at its seventh annual iConnect Client Conference in San Diego with the announcement of the Future Forward campaign and a dinner cruise with clients. The company will continue celebrations throughout the year at industry events including CS Week in Fort Worth, Texas in May, where KUBRA will host its annual Client Appreciation Event.

The company will also host celebrations for team members across its five locations, and will show its commitment to future generations by working with charitable organizations such as Code.org that are focused on providing educational resources to students to help bridge the skills gap between today’s workforce and those of the future.

Founded in 1992 in Mississauga, Ontario, KUBRA was created to receive data for the production and mailing of bills, invoices and statements as an outsourced service for B2B businesses. Throughout the following years, KUBRA rapidly expanded its solutions and created new products to support its growing client base. In 1999, KUBRA expanded into the U.S. market and subsequently moved away from its legacy B2B and newspaper clients to focus on serving the U.S. utility space including water, gas, electric and waste management providers.

KUBRA went on to launch a number of industry-leading customer experience products, including its:

  • KUBRA iDoxs® e-billing solution providing bill presentment and credit card payments in 1999
  • KUBRA EZ-PAY® on-demand payment solution in 2004
  • Secure email bill delivery and payment offering in 2005
  • Mobile e-billing solutions including SMS, mobile apps and mobile web in 2009
  • B2B e-billing solution for commercial and industrial clients in 2012
  • In-person payment solutions including self-serve kiosks and retail cash payments in 2015
  • Automated alerts and preference management, comprehensive mobile apps and customer-facing utility maps in 2016

KUBRA has evolved dramatically in the past three years. In 2014, Hearst acquired an 80 percent stake in the company, and in 2016, KUBRA acquired Arizona-based software company iFactor, adding utility maps, an outage alerts and preference management system, and multi-function mobile apps to its solution portfolio. This acquisition solidified the company’s position as an industry leader in providing customer experience management solutions, with 65 percent of the top 100 gas and electricity providers in the U.S. as clients.

Speaking about the future of the company, Watkin said, “Innovation will keep us ahead of the game as we look at trends in technology and especially within the rapidly changing Customer Experience landscape. KUBRA continues to refine its product road map to address the customer experience and technology trends.”

In its 25 years in business, KUBRA has provided more than 5 billion customer experience interactions. Today, KUBRA provides interactions through deployments at more than 550 utility, insurance and government clients. To support its continued growth, KUBRA has grown to nearly 500 team members, and the company plans to hire another 60 employees by the end of the year.
