SaskPower Uses KUBRA Arizona Inc. StreetLight Outages™ Map to Improve Response to Customer Repair Requests
TEMPE, Arizona (October 14, 2014) – SaskPower recently launched a new map-based webpage that allows customers to quickly and easily report issues with outdoor lights. The new reporting tool, powered by KUBRA Arizona Inc.’s StreetLight Outages, is designed to help SaskPower improve the customer experience of reporting streetlight outages. To provide additional information on the initiative, SaskPower’s Director of Technology Innovation, Sheldon Smith, joined KUBRA Arizona Inc. on October 15 for a webinar titled “Streamlining Customer Streetlight Repair Requests.”
SaskPower’s StreetLight Outages webpage replaces the previous streetlight outage reporting form, and provides a more intuitive interface for SaskPower customers to locate streetlights in need of repair. The webpage allows users to pan and zoom on the map or to enter an address into the search bar to locate a streetlight and submit a report.
In keeping with the responsive design of the Utility’s website, SaskPower chose to use a mobile-friendly interface for the streetlight outage webpage that allows customers to access the tool from both desktop and mobile devices. As part of the overall project, SaskPower also partnered with the cities of Saskatoon, Regina, and Swift Current to include municipal streetlight locations on the map, further simplifying the reporting process for residents of those cities by providing a single location for streetlight issue reporting.
The October 15 webinar will cover how StreetLight Outages can help improve the repair request process for customers while streamlining the workflow process for employees, and how SaskPower used the solution in partnership with local municipalities to speed repair requests, gain efficiencies, increase resident safety, and improve customer satisfaction across the province of Saskatchewan.
