KUBRA Announces iConnect 2018 Keynotes
The KUBRA Annual Client Conference, iConnect, is a two-day long conference full of instructive training, interactive workshops, utility-led presentations, inspiring keynotes, and exciting networking opportunities. Earlier in 2017, KUBRA announced that the eighth annual conference, iConnect 2018, will be held in New Orleans, LA on April 3-5.
As the event draws closer, KUBRA is excited to announce a great lineup of keynote speakers. These speakers are drawn from different areas within the industry, as well as a couple from outside the industry, and they all have great information and insights to share.
Penni McLean-Conner, Chief Customer Officer and SVP at Eversource Energy
Penni is responsible for providing Eversource Energy’s 3.5 million electric and gas customers with high quality customer service and delivering a cost-effective portfolio of electric and gas energy efficiency programs. Penni has over 25 years in the utility business and has authored three books, “Customer Service: Utility Style,” “Energy Efficiency: Principles and Practices,” and “Profiles in Excellence: Utility Chief Customer Officers.” She holds a BS in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University and is a registered professional engineer. She is active in the industry and her community, serving on several boards such as the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE), and Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership (NEEP), among others.
Bill LeBlanc, Chief Instigation Agent at E Source
Bill LeBlanc previously served E Source as Vice President for Marketing, Vice President for Consulting, and Vice President for Research. He’s also President of the Boulder Energy Group. Bill has more than 20 years of experience in strategic marketing, new product development, pricing, market research, and demand-side management as well as social marketing. He focuses on helping utilities understand the intersection between the customer and the utility’s products and services, and specializes in maximizing marketing effectiveness. Before joining E Source, Bill worked for six years as a director at Barakat & Chamberlin, a national consulting firm. He also founded and served for several years as president of the Association of Energy Services Professionals. Bill served as a project manager at EPRI from 1988 to 1991, overseeing projects focused on demand management, rates, marketing, and customer behavior; developing promotional programs for EPRI products and services; and conducting conferences and workshops. He holds a BS and an MS in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and a BA in management economics from Claremont McKenna College.
Ben Kellison, Director, Grid Edge Research at Greentech Media
Ben is the Director of Grid Research for GTM Research, specializing in Distribution Automation, Network Management and Renewables Integration markets. He previously worked as a research analyst for Knwldg Houston, formerly a green energy and healthcare consulting firm, where his research focused on AMI deployment and smart grid regulatory policy. He has authored multiple studies on the smart grid market, concentrating on policy evolution, technology innovation, the market’s competitive landscape and project economics. Ben has been a smart grid contributor on CNN Money, NPR, and the Texas Tribune. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science.
Chris Papaleo, Executive Director of Emerging Technology at Hearst
As the Executive Director of Emerging Technology at Hearst, Chris leads Hearst’s product development and strategic partnerships, with a focus on AI-driven products including interactive voice, virtual reality, augmented reality, Internet of Things, and more. Prior to Hearst, Chris served as the Senior Director, Global Business Development at Universal Music Group and Senior Director, Digital Business Development at Sony Music Entertainment. He holds a law degree from St. John’s University and a BA in English from Loyola University Maryland.
