Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) is an electricity delivery company that connects more than 480,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers to low-cost and reliable energy throughout Indianapolis and other central Indiana communities. This case study reviews the deployment of indoor and outdoor self-service kiosks in IPL’s service territory and how the new payment channel led to rapid growth of kiosk use, increased customer satisfaction, and cost savings for the utility.
